In Facebook land, it's totally normal to like things strangers said, become friends with people you don't know, and share intimate photos with people who don't care. One chap tested it out, and became a lunatic.

When you transpose is to the offline life, you realize it's really, really odd. Just try following someone without using Twitter.

Facebook should be a place where people who are already friends keep in touch. It's kinda creepy because the information you are comfortable sharing with your old classmates and friends are not really suitable for people you barely know.

Having said that, I do have friends who put all their personal information on Facebook and add all sorts of acquaintances that they don't really know at all.
